How does it work?
Most remotes in your house use InfraRed (IR) to send commands to their devices (TV, Home-Theater, BlueRay, etc...).
Each of the remotes sends the commands in it's own format to the device, but we've gathered hundreds of thousands
of commands so you can control almost any publicly available IR-powered device on the market.
Using your phone's IR Blaster, we send the commands to your device, and your device simply reacts like it would
have received the command from it's original remote.
Can I add multiple remotes?
Yes, definitely! Just go to Settings (same screen that got you here), and tap "Add Remote". You'll be welcomed by
the same familiar setup process for adding a remote that you went through after you first installed our app.
What is a Smart Remote?
Smart Remotes are hybrids created using commands from other remotes. For example, you could create a Smart Remote
that uses the Channel Up/Down buttons from your cable-provider's set-top-box, the Volume Up/Down buttons of your
Home Theater system, and the arrow keys from your TV.
The customization options are limitless, allowing you to even map the Arrow UP button to MUTE if that's your desire.
Is there a way to access all of the buttons of my remote?
Yes, to see all the commands that we support for your device you'll need to swipe-left on the remote screen. This
action will reaveal the 4 color buttons (which usually TV remotes will have) and the other buttons of your remote.
What does MUTE WHEN RECEIVING CALLS do?
Don't you hate it when you receive a call but can't hear the other person because the TV is too loud? Now,
Smart Remote can automatically mute your current device when someone calls you. You're holding a phone, not just
an universal remote control, and we're not forgetting that. Just go into Automated Tasks and start playing with it.
What are AIR GESTURES?
Air Gestures are movements that you can do above your phone to control your current remote. Just like in the
Gallery app! Swipe sideways to change channels, or up and down to change the volume. Just remember that if
your current remote doesn't have those buttons, all the waves in the air will be for nothing.
Also, even if your screen turns off, gestures will still work as long as you don't close the app before turning
off the phone screen
What are macros?
Macros are combinations of commands which you can create to send multiple commands quickly with the press of a
single button. For example, you could create a macro that would that would turn on your TV, Set Top Box and
Home Cinema at the same time. Or a macro which would go to station 122 on your TV... Options are limitless from here!
How do I rename a remote?
To rename a remote, simply tap it's name on the list remotes screen.
I can't find any of my devices in the list. What can I do?
First of all, make sure you test any model by your manufacturer in that category. More often than not, the models
use the same remote control codes and they work for a wide range of models. If none of them works, then just email us at
colortigerapps@gmail.com,
including the email address you used to purchase the app or your transaction id. We'll usually add support for reported devices within a week,
but sometimes it might just take longer! We also work continuously to add more devices to our database, and we
add a few hundreds of new commands every week.
